A Note From Chris:

At the core of what Charles Brock has built is a story we all know. One of struggle, resilience, and the realization that we can be our own hero. We see our own stories in the reflection — each one carved by the unique experiences of our lives, and the highs and lows that have shaped us into the person we see staring back at us.

As an artist and craftsman himself, Chuck set out to capture and tell these stories through the lens of woodworking. After hosting his first show on PBS, The Highland Woodworker, for over a decade, he launched season one of The Volunteer Woodworker.

With a scrappy crew fueled by passion, they set out to capture thirteen stories across Tennessee and the US. Season one saw an incredible response, and not just from woodworkers and craftsmen, but PBS and online audiences at large.

These stories are real. They’re human. And they’re being shared in a novel way.

It was a joy to craft and strategize Chuck’s season two funding campaign. He’s asking for a modest amount. From my extensive background across production, creative, and storytelling, it’s clear that with a bit more funding, The Volunteer Woodworker could quickly be polished into something that’s not only novel but also easy to carry and distribute anywhere!
