đź› What Clients Get Wrong About Creative Work (And How to Fix It)
Creative work isn’t magic. But to the untrained eye, it can feel like someone pulled it from thin air.
That perception creates a real problem: if it seems like it came out of nowhere, how do you know if it’s any good—or worth paying for—and if it is good, do you know why so you can repeat it?
❌ What Clients Often Get Wrong
Here’s the truth: most clients haven’t seen how the creative process actually happens—or how much really goes into it.
So they treat it like it’s surface-level. Disposable. Maybe even easy.
They say things like:
“Just a logo.”
“We just need a quick video.”
“Can’t you just Photoshop that?”
“We’ll know it when we see it.”
Sound familiar? You're not alone.
🔍 What They’re Missing
The creative process may look fast and intuitive—but that’s because most of the heavy lifting is invisible.
The real work happens before anything is written, filmed, designed, or posted. And the better the output, the more invisible the foundation becomes.
You don’t see the research. The exploration. The dozens of half-baked drafts and dead-end ideas.
You don’t see the strategy that brings the right idea into focus—or the decisions that hold everything together.
(And that’s so okay. All of us creatives signed up for it and ultimately love it!)
But it’s there. And it matters.
🧠So What’s the Fix?
The answer is in:
• Process
• Positioning
• Trust
Process → A clear roadmap saves time, money, and headaches.
Positioning → My job is to translate your needs into effective creative—not just pretty pictures.
Trust → You hired me for a reason. When you lean in, the work gets better.
When clients understand the creative process, they stop second-guessing and start collaborating. They become clearer, more confident, and way easier to work with.
And when creatives own their role as strategic partners—not just executors—the work gets better. Period.
